The Idol of Pomos Earrings - Silver
The Idol of Pomos is a prehistoric sculpture from the village of Pomos in Cyprus, dating back to the Chalcolithic period around the 30th century BC. Depicting a woman with outstretched arms, the figure is thought to represent a fertility or mother goddess, serving as a sacred cult image of life and creation.
Handcrafted in the mountains of Cyprus by skilled artisans, each pair is formed from premium 925 sterling silver and brought to life using the ancient method of lost-wax casting. Finished entirely by hand, no two pairs are ever the same—each piece carries its own unique character, much like the ancient symbols that inspired them.

- Avoid Moisture: Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, or washing hands.
- Steer Clear of Chemicals: Perfumes, lotions, hairspray, and cleaning agents can damage the gold plating and tarnish the silver underneath. Apply these products before putting on your jewellery.
- Keep it in a cool, dry, and dark place: ideally in an airtight container or anti-tarnish pouch.

Each of our pieces is crafted using the ancient technique of lost-wax casting. This method involves creating a wax model of the design, which is then encased in a mold; once the wax is melted away, molten metal is poured in to form the final piece. Lost-wax casting has been used for thousands of years, dating back to at least 3700 BCE, making it one of the oldest known methods of metalwork in human history.
